I try to remember but I can’t. I try to remember but I can’t if you don’t tell me. I try to remember how it went. We’re in a restaurant. You start to talk about a movie I don’t really know. How can I be sure of our lives if I can’t remember the things you like? You told me about Simone Signoret but I couldn’t recall anything she has made. I try to remember but I can’t. I try to remember, but I confuse her with Romy Schneider. I try to remember what she made. We’re in a restaurant and you want to leave because I don’t remember your favorite film. How should I know our story could end because I don’t remember Simone Signoret? I’m standing here staring at the door thinking ‘bout what you said a few months ago: I don’t want to live with someone like you, the most disgusting person in the neighborhood. I want to love somebody else, someone who knows Simone Signoret.

In the morning when you’re gone I listen to a song, it is a perfect gift for someone who’s trying to forget the years, the hours, the days. What do you regret? I see a boy, he’s crying. I see her mum, she’s crying. Everybody’s doing the same thing over again. A man is dying in the street but nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. Do you recognize the voice? The one that yells your name when you’re half asleep. I hear my name out loud, I’m waiting for what’s next but in this room is the silence what remains. Where have all my friends gone? I just want to be the one who can bring them back. These walls are falling down again and you’re just being depressed. But how can we get out of here? I see a boy, he’s crying. I see her mum, she’s crying. Everybody’s doing the same thing over again. Where have all my friends gone? I just want to be the one who can bring them back. These walls are falling down again and you’re just being depressed. But how can we get out of here?

Wandering ‘round I can dream of a corner where lovers can go when they have no others to share their lives hoping to find someone there, someone who cares, someone who calls their names after midnight. I can see faces from people around me, they try to disguise, they try to ignore me but I can perceive they feel the same as me today. Trying to be… Trying to reach a real good time. I bumped into you today, I should have said hello. Do you believe in miracles? I know a place where we can go, a place where we can go. We can hold each other’s hands tonight and dance around the living room. I promise I will try not to step on you, not to be untrue, not to destroy our real good time. I bumped into you today, I should have said hello. Do you believe in miracles? I know a place where we can go, a place where we can go.
4.
You told me that something went wrong and I started to sing about Fay Wray and King Kong and how their love is the strongest thing when there’s no one there to pull the strings. But I know you’re partially right. In fact, you’re sleeping with another guy. But, oh, what else can I do? Should I try to bring you to the top of the roof? What should I do tonight? Am I no longer able to be your knight? When the calendar strikes May, all those funny movies won’t carry the weight. And even those horror films you play bring me back to your scary face. Oh, how I wish it would rain today! We can meet at the airport with an epic race. But something tells me it won’t work and I’d be watching planes all day long. What should I do tonight? Am I no longer able to be your knight? You know that I’ve been waiting for you. You told me that something went wrong and I started to sing about Fay Wray and King Kong and how their love is the strongest thing.
5.
When I come back home on Christmas Day I’d like to recall your favorite game. You try to find everyone jumping to their knees and they roar with laughter when you climb the tree. What a day, what a beautiful day. While I’m driving back home I’m thinking of you. There’s a lot of old pictures, I don’t know what to do. Should I throw them away? Should I burn them up? Should I put them in a box? Should I turn around? Should I leave this town? I don’t want to grow up. Those days were days of fun. When I’m knocking the door, I start to think ‘bout the ones who have gone and the ones who have left. Christmas time is not as good as it was before. I’m so glad you are there when they open the door. I’m so happy that you’re still in my life.
6.
If you ever think of me send me a postcard with your name and your address. On the other side the place where we first met. I’d like to know which way to go to understand how it goes when you’re surrounded by new friends. Do they fulfill you? But for how long? It will be worth in the end. With all those rainy days and all those night walks when the lines were not in our face. When your dreams were real, you told me everything before the silence burst into our fate. If you ever think of me, just remember I was great. You’ll have to change every memory and I will do the same. What an awesome time when no one fights, I would love to live this way. Even your mummy is fine, you look feline. Reality distortion works well. If you ever think of me, send me a postcard with your name.

I used to go to school on the bus where we met I used to look at you and every colored-clothes you wore. And if I could return to those old days I’d do the same. I’d love to stare at you and your Smokey eyes again. I hear that the Stones are coming to our town today, would you like to come and sing their songs again? I remember you and me walking around until the end of the day, talking about the singles club and the last one that they sent. Just before that September when your parents took you away. I remember you and me walking till the end of the day. Even though it was raining the sun was shining those days because when you looked at me that way I went insane.

There’s a lot of things I like to write just in case I forget my whole life. And most of the things they’re all about you so I guess this song, this song is for you, my love. I really like to read my notes. That’s what I do when I’m chasing ghosts. So I can recall everything that we’ve done, even the sadder things have place in my notes, my love. But the happy times are my favorite ones. The sound of the air, the smell of your hair, the way that you smile when no one’s around. That will be what I missed the most when I’m dead. And when we dance, and then when we kiss, this life is the best so we cannot miss it. Take my hand and let’s create some magical moments. Let’s take a walk, let’s sing in French. And when the day comes and I’ll start to bleed, I will remember everything that we did. I can’t imagine a better way to say goodbye.

Gone 04:04
Gone, gone, I’d like to reward everyone who feels weary, everyone who has lost. I want to get along with you and conceal everything, we’re endangered, that’s true. In the middle of the night, I recall what you said. In the middle of the night, I recall, but you’re gone. Gone, gone, and I’d like to know if there’s something I can do to bring you back home. I’m always on about your trace. How this quarrel has took you away? Oh, how I miss you in the middle of the day. Oh, how I miss everything, but you’re gone. I had a friend, I had a brother, I had a mum and I had a father but now they’re all just gone and I don’t want you to join them at all. In the middle of the night, I remember your face. In the middle of the night, I recall that you’re gone.

Good Night 02:38
I would like to answer all your questions, if I can’t there’s no problem, I make an invention. I try to make a good story so you can smile. And you can go to sleep thinking about it. The moon is hanging up there and someone holds your hand. She only comes out at night because she wants to see you while you sleep. The moon only wants you to be quiet, that’s why we speak softly when the night comes. With all her shining, she looks after us, so you can dream about your sister and me. By night no-one can see, and everyone can fall. The dreams are more real when there’s a full moon up in the sky. We have to sing lower or she’ll be angry, that’s why sometimes she isn’t up there. Lucky for us, people have built light bulbs or we would fall at home again and again. She’s only tired and sleepy, she’s not so far away, she’s only well-hidden so everyone can go to sleep. Good night.

inicial de este “Where have all my friends gone” que quizás
pareja no conocer a Simone Signoret.
¡Pero, hemos citado a Silent James! ¿Recordamos quién es
Silent James?
“Christmas Time”, la titular “Where have all my friends gone”,
“Send me a postcard”, “Fay Wray and King Kong” o “Let’s sing
“Someday I’ll write a nice story” (2017) y “What do you want
to be when you grow up? (2018), una trilogía al servicio de la
vida y sus accidentes. También de sus miradores y escondites.
Paisajes cálidos, intermitentes. Necesarios.
Signoret?
